Jim Watt and his daughter, Katie Watt, founded Concord Bee Company in 2020. Jim is a Cornell-certified Master Beekeeper, and Katie is a Bates College graduate with a degree in Biology. During the summer of 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they sought a meaningful and engaging project—an idea that ultimately grew into Concord Bee Company.
Today, Jim manages the day-to-day beekeeping operations in New Hampshire. Katie, now working in Boston, supports the company through her scientific background and by managing many of Concord Bee Company’s social media posts, helping connect customers to the seasonal rhythms of the hive and the science behind beekeeping.

I'm Krishna Katragadda, and I call Manchester, NH, my home. As I prepare to graduate from Derryfield High School, I'm excitedly looking ahead to my next chapter at Northeastern University, where I'll be majoring in Molecular Biology. For my senior project, I've taken on the challenge of learning the art of Beekeeping, despite having no prior experience in this field. I see this as a unique and valuable opportunity to broaden my horizons and gain new insights. I can't wait to dive in and see where this journey takes me with the guidance of Jim Watt.
My name is Owen Clemans, I live in Bow, NH and will be graduating from The Derryfield School this June! In the fall, I will be attending Wake Forest University where I plan to major in biology on a pre-med track. For my Independent Senior Project, I chose to work with the Concord Bee Company to push myself out of my comfort zone and to study the biology and behavior of honey bees hands on. From this experience I am excited to learn about the inner workings of a small business and work alongside a master beekeeper, Jim Watt!
